A Simple Surf House Routine That Actually Works

The best routine at a surf house is usually barely a routine at all: check conditions, protect your important work, eat properly and leave room to change the plan.

A Simple Surf House Routine That Actually Works

Staying near the surf can make every day feel open-ended. That is part of the appeal, but it can also turn a week into a strange mix of missed sessions, late meals and half-finished work.

A little structure helps, as long as it stays light.

CHECK CONDITIONS ONCE, THEN DECIDE.

Start the day with one useful look at the forecast and the actual water. Make a call. Constantly refreshing apps usually does not create better waves.

KEEP FOOD SIMPLE.

Surf days are easier when basic meals do not require a project plan. A kitchenette, a few reliable local options and enough water solve more problems than people expect.

HAVE ONE DRY ZONE.

Wet gear has a talent for spreading. Keeping one part of the room or workspace dry makes longer stays much more comfortable.

LEAVE THE EVENING OPEN SOMETIMES.

You do not need to maximise every day. Some of the best parts of a longer coastal stay happen because nothing was booked.

The useful routine is the one that helps you surf, work and recover without making your stay feel like another schedule to manage.
